Lynch connected with Da’Ron Brown for a 36-yard score with 5:49 remaining to break a 27-27 tie, and the Huskies (10-0, 6-0 Mid-American) ran the nation’s longest active home winning streak to 25.  They have also won 23-straight conference games.

The win helped preserve Northern Illinois’ hopes for a second consecutive BCS bowl bid.

Keith Wenning passed for 349 yards with one touchdown and one interception for Ball State, (9-2, 6-1) who had their seven-game winning streak snapped at the hands of the Huskies.

Lynch scored on a 16-yard run with 1:26 left to seal the win.  On Ball State’s final possession, Joe Windsor picked off Wenning and returned it 49 yards for a touchdown to provide the final scoring margin.
