Jury Says Samsung Must Pay Apple $290 Million
Published at | Updated at(SAN JOSE, Calif.) — A jury in California’s Silicon Valley is ordering Samsung to pay Apple close to $300 million for patent infringement.
The jury says Samsung stole patented technology from the popular Apple mobile devices to make devices very similar to the iPhone and iPad.
This is the second time a jury has decided that Samsung stole from Apple — the first case ending in a judgement for $1 billion. A third trial is scheduled for next year.
For that case, Apple is arguing the sale of Samsung devices should be banned in the U.S. because of the stolen technology. A court is considering that claim now.
