Magnitude 5.6 Earthquake Strikes 30 Miles from Iran Nuclear Plant
Published at(TEHRAN, Iran) — A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck near Bushehr, Iran at about 2 p.m. local time on Thursday.
Bushehr is about 30 miles from a nuclear plant in southern Iran. Iran’s official news agency has publicly stated that seven people were killed and 45 were injured. No damage was reported at the nuclear plant.
The U.S. Geological Survey says that aftershocks were likely.
