Oakland started the contest strong. The Raiders scored on the first play of the game when Terrance Williams fumbled the opening kickoff and Raiders receiver Greg Jenkins recovered the ball and ran it back for a touchdown.

The Raiders futhered their lead to 21-7 with 1:56 left in the half when running back Rashad Jennings rushed for his second touchdown of the quarter. But Tony Romo drove the Cowboys 70 yards in under two minutes ending with Murray rushing for his second touchdown of the game, moving Dallas within seven points at halftime.

The second half was all Dallas. The Cowboys tied the game in the third quarter on a Romo touchdown pass to Dez Bryant. In the fourth, Murray gave Dallas the lead when he rushed for his third touchdown and Dan Bailey’s 19-yard field goal with 1:56 remaining all but ended the game.

“To have the opening kickoff fumbled and returned for a touchdown and then be down a couple of scores in the first half, nobody blinked,” Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said. “The momentum kind of turned and I think guys started feeling pretty good and it just continued.”

At least until Sunday, the Cowboys (7-5) hold sole possession of first place in NFC East. Meanwhile the Raiders (4-8) fall further out of the AFC playoff race.
