(TOLEDO, Ohio) — Jordan Lynch rushed for 161 yards and three touchdowns as No. 16 Northern Illinois (11-0, 7-0 MAC Conference) stayed perfect with a 35-17 win at Toledo on Wednesday night.
The Huskies also extended their 24-game conference winning streak and have cemented their place in the MAC Conference championship game.
“It feels good,” said head coach Rod Carey. “It was a hard-fought game. In the first half, we didn’t finish on offense and we were kicking field goals and we didn’t make `em. The defense played great the whole game. We told the offense at halftime, finish.”
Terrance Owens led Toledo (7-4) with 235 passing yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
The Huskies are still in the hunt for a second straight BCS appearance after playing in the Orange Bowl last season.
