(METAIRIE, La.) — Saints cornerback Jabari Greer will miss the rest of the season with a torn anterior cruciate knee ligament. New Orleans officially placed him on injured reserve Tuesday.
Greer suffered the injury on Sunday, when he went to break up a pass and landed awkwardly during the Saints’ 23-20 win over San Francisco.
In 10 games this season, Greer had 30 tackles and one interception. Before joining New Orleans in 2009, he spent his first five seasons with the Buffalo Bills.
The 31-year-old has 13 interceptions and four touchdowns during his ten-year NFL career.
To fill Greer’s roster spot, the Saints signed second-year cornerback Trevin Wade.
