GETTY 111113 SarahPalin? SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1384162624503Douglas Graham/CQ Roll Call(DES MOINES, Iowa) — Sarah Palin railed against the health care law, the Republican establishment and those who attack Christmas during her speech Saturday night at the Iowa Faith & Freedom Coalition’s fall fundraiser at the State Fairgrounds in Des Moines.

The former half-term Alaska governor, who is currently promoting her new book, Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas, has been one of most ardent foes of the Affordable Care Act from the beginning but also believes Capitol Hill Republicans have sold out their constituents by not trying harder to stop it.

Palin, the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee, fired up the crowd by saying, “Remember this?  They promised that they would do everything in their power to fight against socialized medicine — against Obamacare — but when it came time to stand and defund it, they waved the white flag of surrender.”

She added that the only “good guys” in the Senate are Ted Cruz of Texas and Mike Lee of Utah, the leaders of the partial government shutdown.

Meanwhile, Palin summed up the theme of her new book out Tuesday, saying, “Enough is enough.  Enough is enough of this politically correct police out there that is acting to erode our freedom to celebrate and exercise our faith.”

But Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas is not all just pontificating.  Palin mentioned it does have a moose chili recipe perfect for those holiday get-togethers.
