Skier Lindsey Vonn Partially Tears ACL During Training Crash
Published at | Updated at(NEW YORK) — The injuries that Lindsey Vonn, America’s most decorated female skier, sustained Tuesday from a crash during a training run have been revealed.
A representative for Vonn said she “sustained a mild strain to her right knee, a partial tear to her right ACL, minor facial abrasions and scapular contusions from her fall.”
Vonn plans to take a few days to rest and then will “pursue aggressive physical therapy.” It is not yet known when Vonn will next be able to compete.
In February, Vonn tore her left knee’s ACL and MCL ligaments in a crash during the world championship in Schladming, Austria. Vonn underwent knee surgery for her injuries.
The latest crash comes just three months before Vonn is expected to compete at the Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.
