Stocks End Higher; Nasdaq Closed Above 4,000

Hemera/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — The markets closed slightly higher Tuesday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average gave up some of its gains, but managed to close up 2 points at 16,072.80. The Nasdaq Composite added 23 points for the day, closing above 4,000 for the first time in 13 years, at 4,017.75. The S&P 500 was up just a fraction of a point, at 1,802.75.
