Tom Cruise: ‘I Have in No Way Cut Suri Out of My Life’

James Devaney/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) — Tom Cruise insists that he has a close relationship with his 7-year-old daughter, Suri, despite his demanding movie career.
The actor made the declaration in court documents filed Tuesday in connection with his ongoing lawsuit against the publisher of Life & Style and In Touch magazines.
The Oblivion star is suing Bauer Publishing Co. over a couple of stories published last year in those magazines that claimed he “abandoned” Suri after he and the child’s mother, Katie Holmes, divorced.
According to TMZ, Cruise states in his court papers, “I have in no way cut Suri out of my life — whether physically, emotionally, financially or otherwise.” He says that though he was shooting two movies around the time the In Touch story was published, he was still a “constant presence in Suri’s life.”
The actor says, “even during the times when I was working overseas and was not able to see Suri in person, we were (and continue to be) extremely close.”
Cruise sued Bauer for $50 million in October of 2012.
