Twin Falls Annexes Jump Site

(TWIN FALLS, ID) – The city of Twin Falls has annexed the site of Evel Knievel’s 1974 attempted rocket launch across the Snake River Canyon.  City council members unanimously approved the measure on Monday, which also puts the Centennial Trail and the city gun range within municipal boundaries. Twin Falls obtained the site in a land swap last year, and wanted full jurisdiction over the ramp. The Idaho Department of Lands has awarded exclusive lease rights to the ramp to daredevil Big Ed Beckley, who plans to retry Knievel’s failed launch in September of next year.
