(NEW YORK) — Since Ed Orgeron took over USC’s football team after Lane Kiffin was fired, the program has gotten back on track. Which is why Orgeron thinks he should return next season as the full-time head coach.
“I want to be the head coach at USC,” Orgeron told ESPNU’s College Football Daily. “I love being a head coach. I think that’s it’s something that I’m able to do, and do well. And I want to be the head coach at USC when I get the chance.”
“I think I can perform on a very high basis to do what the Trojan family wants me to do,” he continued.
After the team’s dramatic 20-17 win over then fourth ranked Stanford, the team improved to 5-1 under their interim head coach, especially after a rocky 3-2 start.
Orgeron has been with USC since 2010.
