1,730 Enroll in Idaho Health Insurance Exchange

(BOISE, ID) – More than 100,000 Idahoans lost their insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act, and just 1,730 have signed up. State officials say that was the total number of people that enrolled in Your Health Idaho by Nov. 30. Idaho is expected to have its own exchange up and running by October of next year, thanks to a $50 million federal grant. Enrollment nationally is under 400,000, only a fraction of the 1.2 million projected by Nov. 30. Idaho residents will still have to be enrolled in a federally-approved health care plan by March 31 or face a tax penalty.
