(ARCO, ID) – An Arco man was killed in an avalanche last Thursday in rural Bonneville County.  Thirty-nine-year-old Rex Andersen was snowmobiling near Palisades Peak when a sheet of snow came loose and buried him. He was located within about ten minutes by family members, who immediately contacted emergency officials. Efforts to revive Andersen were unsuccessful. The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office says the snowpack in the area is dangerously unstable. They’re urging all riders to carry proper safety equipment and to avoid taking any unnecessary risks.
