Attorney Says Hunting Dog Shooting a “Mistake”
Published at | Updated at(BLACKFOOT, ID) – The attorney of a man accused of shooting a hunting dog near Springfield earlier this month is calling the incident a “mistake.” The suspect is claiming that he was feeding cattle at the time, and mistook the dog for a coyote. That account conflicts with the story of the dog’s owner, Chris Mickelsen, who claims the suspect stopped, saw the dog wearing an orange vest, and shot it before speeding away. Bingham County Sheriff’s deputies will release the name of the man once their investigation is finished.
