The school has announced they’ve reach a six-year extension with the first-year coach.

Malzahn’s new deal will pay him $3.85 million his first year, and then increase by $250,000 each year after.

Since being hired, Malzahn has completely turned around an Auburn program that won three games in 2012, and not a single one of them against an SEC team.

As of Fright night, Malzahn has led Auburn to an 11-1 record and has put them in position to play for a National Championship.

“As I’ve said before, we want coach Malzahn to be at Auburn for a long time,” Auburn Athletic Director Jay Jacobs said. “The new contract includes a raise and an extension and is our statement that Auburn is committed to coach Malzahn for the long haul. While this season has been remarkable, I’m equally excited about the future of the program under his leadership. The future of Auburn football is very bright.”

Malzahn had served as Auburn’s offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach from 2009-2011.
