(POCATELLO, ID) – Bannock County Sheriff Lorin Nielsen is confident that the FBI will vindicate a deputy who shot and wounded a Fort Hall man after a high speed chase last week. The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes are questioning the county’s investigation into the case, which left Kevin Toane hospitalized with serious injuries. The deputy involved had reportedly shot and killed another suspect in a relatively recent standoff. The county has thus far declined requests from tribal detectives to examine the dash cam footage of the shooting.
