As of Tuesday morning, 11 states from the Midwest to New England have Wind Chill Warnings and Advisories.

In International Falls, Minn., the temperature feels like it’s near -50 degrees, while in Chicago it feels close to -20.  The frigid weather is even seeping into the South, where wind chills between 9 and 39 are being felt from northern Texas to northern Florida.

So does all this cold weather mean some people could wind up with a white Christmas? Maybe.

Snow is forecast to fall from the Dakotas to Minneapolis, Chicago, Green Bay, Wis., and into parts of Michigan Tuesday afternoon.  Accumulations will generally be light, between 1 and 4 inches.

Snow is also possible in the Northeast from Erie, Pa., to Binghamton, N.Y.  Even a dusting to a half an inch is possible from Philadelphia to New York City and into Boston.

After the snow, cold air from the Midwest will move on eastward. Highs will be in the lower 20s on Christmas day in Boston, below freezing in New York City and near freezing in Philadelphia.
