Blues Place Steen on Injured Reserve
Published at(ST. LOUIS) — Forward Alexander Steen, the second-leading goal scorer in the NHL, was placed on injured reserve by the St. Louis Blues Saturday due to a concussion.
Steen has been out since Dec. 21 when he left the Blues’ game versus Edmonton with what was deemed a “upper-body injury.”
Blues general manager Doug Armstrong says that while Steen can exercise, there is no timetable for the 29-year-old’s return.
Steen has 24 goals and 14 assists this season and leads the Blues (24-7-5, 53pts) with 38 points.
Earlier this month, Steen signed a three-year, $17.4 million contract extension with the team.
