This being the holiday season, there was a reggae band playing music during a break Tuesday and Ford, who has been under fire for admitting to smoking crack among other questionable behaviors, decided to bust a move.

While Ford was dancing, he was joined by a few lawmakers who appeared to enjoy the revelry.

However, the dance party did not sit well with Councilor Pam McConnell, who had gotten into a heated argument with the embattled mayor just moments before Ford started his slow and sometimes fast sway.

McConnell told reporters later, “Under the kind of microscope that we’re under, it just seems to me that we’re not taking it very seriously, the whole world is looking at us. Now being able to show the Toronto city council boogying around instead of doing business just feeds into that late-night show comedy act.”

Councilor Mark Grimes added, “This has turned into the greatest show on earth, it is crazy, every day is something different. There is no word for it anymore — ridiculous, over the top, gong show — that’s all gone.”

Ford says he has quit drinking and is seeking professional help. However, the mayor has no intention of stepping down and is believed to be preparing to run for reelection in 2014.
