Back on Nov. 22, Rose tore the meniscus in his right knee and underwent surgery three days later. He’s expected to miss the rest of the season.

Rose missed the entire 2012-2013 season recovering from a torn ACL in his left knee he suffered during the playoffs. Despite another setback, Rose is determined to return sooner than later.

“If I’m healthy and the situation is right, I’m going to be back playing,” Rose said on Thursday. “If I’m healthy and my meniscus is fully healed, of course I’ll be out there playing. But if it’s something totally different and the outcome is not how I would want it to be, there’s no need.”

The Bulls have gone 1-4 since Rose was sidelined, but they still have a realistic shot at the playoffs.

In his return from the ACL, Rose was averaging 15.9 points and 4.3 assists in 10 games this season.
