BYU-I Students on Missing Plane
Published at | Updated at(REXBURG, ID) – Two BYU-Idaho students were among the five people feared dead after their plane disappeared over the central Idaho mountains on Sunday. Amber Smith of San Jose, California and her fiancee, Jonathan Norton of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, were flying on a private, single-engine plane from Baker City, Oregon to Butte, Montana. Smith’s father, brother, and sister-in-law were also on flight. The pilot, Dale Smith, is a Silicon Valley executive and founder of SerialTek, a software company. Search efforts are being focused near the town of Yellow Pine, just outside the Frank Church Wilderness Area.
