Chris Kaman Not Happy with His Role with Lakers

NOH Kaman Chris? SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1387292207348NBA via New Orleans Hornets(ATLANTA) — Pau Gasol isn’t the only big man on the Los Angeles Lakers roster who’s frustrated with his role on the team. Center Chris Kaman has publicly vented about his playing time with the team so far.

“It’s absolutely not what I was looking for,” Kaman told ESPNLosangeles.com. “It’s not really in my control. I just try to keep working hard and be ready if the time comes. And if it doesn’t, then it just wasn’t meant to be.”

With the departure of Dwight Howard via free agency during the offseason, Kaman signed with the Lakers in hopes of earning significant playing time and re-establishing his value around the league, as he’s playing with his third team in as many seasons.

But the 31-year-old Kaman is averaging a career-low 16.8 minutes per game, which is not what he expected when he signed with the team.

Kaman is in his 11th season in the NBA, and spent his first eight season with the Los Angeles Clippers. In 13 games for the Lakers this season he’s averaging 8.3 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.
