Floyd’s deal will pay him $4 million, and his deal also includes $4.5 million in potential performance and roster bounus’.

He will also be able to test the free agent market again in 2015, as Floyd’s deal does not include a club option for next season.

Back in May, 30-year-old Floyd underwent Tommy John Surgery to repair a torn right ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. He hopes to be ready to pitch in the majors in May 2014.

If Floyd comes back fully healthy, it remains to be determined where he’ll slot into the Braves’ rotation. Despite the departure of Tim Hudson this offseason, the team still has Julio Teheran, Mike Minor, Kris Medlen, Brandon Beachy, and Alex Wood on the roster.

In ten big league seasons, Floyd has gone 70-70 with a 4.48 ERA.
