The deal will be completed once the 40-year-old Colon passes a physical.

Colon went 18-6 with a 2.65 ERA in 30 starts for the Oakland Athletics last season, helping them make the playoffs.  He will join Zack Wheeler, Dillon Gee, and Jonathon Niese in New York’s rotation.

The Colon signing comes just one day after the Mets inked outfielder Curtis Granderson to a four-year, $60 million deal.  Both Colon and Granderson are former members of the Yankees.

The Mets already have committed $87.25 million to free-agent contracts this offseason.
