No. 1 Florida State and No. 2 Ohio State have taken the top two spots in the standings with just one week remaining before the final pairing for the VIZIO BCS National Championship Game is announced.

Alabama, who was the nation’s top team all year before losing to Auburn last Saturday, fell to fourth in the standings.  The Tigers moved up to No. 3 after winning the Iron Bowl.

Auburn faces No. 5 Missouri on Saturday in the SEC championship game.  Both team will likely need Florida State or Ohio State to lose in order to move up in the standings.

The Seminoles need to defeat Duke in the ACC championship game on Saturday night if they want to remain in the top spot.  The Buckeyes will face a tough Michigan State team in the Big Ten title game.

The BCS standings are made up by combining the averages of three factors: the USA Today coaches’ poll, the Harris poll, and an average of six computer ratings.
