(SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.) — Michigan will start freshman Shane Morris in place of the injured Devin Gardner at quarterback against Kansas State in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl Saturday.
“Yes, (Shane) will start the football game,” Michigan head coach Brady Hoke said at media day. “We tried to see if Devin (Gardner) could go and it just wasn’t possible.”
Gardner is out with turf toe opening up the opportunity for the kid who finished his high school career as the No. 8 quarterback recruit in the nation.
Morris has made appearances in three games this season, completing 5 of 9 passes for 65 yards and an interception.
