(BOISE, ID) – Republican officials in Boise have issued a “no confidence” vote against state Rep. Mark Patterson, urging him to resign before the start of the 2014 legislative session. Committee members unanimously agreed that they weren’t comfortable with Patterson representing District 15 after a criminal investigation concluded that Patterson had pleaded guilty to raping a woman in 1974. Patterson insists that he’ll serve out his term until it ends next year. His opponents say they’ll take up the issue with the House Ethics Committee if Patterson doesn’t step down.
