The 10 3-pointers made were the most in the NBA this season and helped the Nets (9-15) win for the fourth time in their past five games.

“My teammates kept telling me, when you catch it, just shoot it,” Johnson said.

Johnson shot 10-of-14 from beyond the arc.  He made eight in the third quarter alone and finished the frame with 29 points.

Brooklyn took a 100-73 lead into the fourth quarter, and Johnson decided to rest on the bench instead of going for the NBA record of 12 3-pointers held by Kobe Bryant and Donyell Marshall.

“I asked him, he wanted out. So he did his job,” Jason Kidd said. “I’m not a coach that’s going to sit someone when they’re hot.”

Deron Williams added 13 points and 13 assists for the Nets, who were without center Brook Lopez for the second straight game. His presence on the court wasn’t missed as much as you might think, as the Nets made a franchise-high 21 3-pointers on the night.

James Anderson led the 76ers (7-19) with 17 points. They lost their seventh game in a row.
