(KANSAS CITY, MO.) — The Kansas City Royals acquired infielder Danny Valencia from the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday, in exchange for outfielder David Lough.
In 52 games with Baltimore last season, Valencia batted .304 with eight home runs and 23 RBI. The 29-year-old had a .553 slugging percentage, which was fifth-highest in the American League among players with at least 150 at-bats.
Valencia also has played for the Minnesota Twins and Boston Red Sox during his four-year career.
The 27-year-old Lough appeared in 96 games with Kansas City last year, hitting .286 with five homers and 33 RBI.
