(NEW YORK) — Realtree Outdoors — the company that distributes all the products from Duck Commander, the product line of the Duck Dynasty dynasty — is standing with embattled patriarch Phil Robertson in the wake of his controversial statements on homosexuality.
In a statement on its website, the company — known for its ubiquitous Realtree camouflage — said, “Realtree’s partnership with Phil Robertson and the Duck Commander team has remained strong for nearly a decade. Our plan is to continue that partnership. As a company, our values align well with the Robertson’s [sic]. Realtree’s ‘Family, Friends and the Outdoors’ slogan is one we take to heart. We support everyone’s right to their opinion, and we certainly support Phil’s right to his.”
Meanwhile, Twitter courted controversy by temporarily blocking user links to a website supporting Robertson. IStandWithPhil.com has a petition against A&E’s decision to suspend the reality show patriarch that boasts more than 200,000 signees.
However, the microblogging site says the block was a mistake, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It was caused by an outside site that accidentally flagged the site as spam, according to Twitter.
ABC is part owner of the A&E Network.
