After playing 56 seconds of the team’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers, Farmar had to leave the game after suffering the injury.

Farmar quickly took to Instagram to update fans that he was already undergoing platelet-rich plasma therapy on his injured hamstring.

“PRP done this afternoon,” Farmar posted, “Healthy blood platelets put directly into the tear! I’ll be back ASAP and better than ever! Our guys got heart and will keep fightin!”

After taking a year off from the NBA last season to play in Turkey, the 27-year-old Farmar had become a very productive player off the bench. In 18 games, Farmar averaged 9.2 points and 4.4 assists per game.

He originally spent his first four seasons of his NBA career with the Lakers, and has two NBA titles to show for it.

Farmar joins Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol among the notable injured Lakers.
