Lakers Mike D’Antoni has Message for Frustrated Fans

Stephen Dunn/Getty Images(PHOENIX) -- With the Los Angeles facing a slew of injuries, losses, and disappointment, head coach Mike D'Antoni want the team's fans to stick with them or find a new team to invest in.

D'Antoni recently said, "We're fighting with a bunch of good guys that played well before, and they'll play [well] again. If [the fans] are discouraged, then, you know, find another team to root for. I'm all right."

"We're not going to give up. Are you kidding me? Discouraged? That's not even fair to these guys," he continued.

Following the Lakers 117-90 loss to the Phoenix Suns Monday night, the Lakers fell to 13-15. While many teams would be happy with a near-winning record, it is not something that Laker fans are used to dealing with.

The Lakers have played a majority of the season without guard Kobe Bryant, and are down to their fourth starting point guard as Steve Nash, Steve Blake, and Jordan Farmar are all dealing with injuries.
