Larry Fitzgerald Inching Closer to Playing on Sunday
(TEMPE, Ariz.) -- Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald participated in a full practice on Thursday, leaving him one step away from being able to play against Seattle on Sunday.
Despite being listed as limited in practice, Fitzgerald was allowed to complete a full practice Thursday once Cardinals' trainers saw the seven-time Pro Bowler handle individual drills and running routes without any symptoms of the concussion he suffered last Sunday.
An independent neurological consultant assigned to the Cardinals by the NFL will meet with Fitzgerald on Friday. In order for Fitzgerald to play on Sunday, he must be cleared by the consultant.
“This is my first (concussion), uncharted territory for me,” Fitzgerald said. “It’s a serious issue, but I want to be out there and play. I will do everything I can to protect myself and my brain, but this is football, a tough sport played by tough men. It’s my job.”
