(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – The U.S. Department of Energy has awarded a $200 million grant to construct a new, state-of-the-art nuclear reactor at the Idaho National Laboratory. NuScale Power will spearhead the project, which could bring as many as 1,000 jobs to eastern Idaho over the next ten years. The small-scale reactor is still in its design phase, but could be up and running in the Gem State by 2023. Once in operation, the reactor will likely provide electricity for Idaho Falls Power.
