(OAKLAND) — The Oakland Athletics reacquired outfielder Corey Brown from the Washington Nationals in exchange for cash Thursday.
Brown, a first-round pick of the Athletics in the 2007 amateur draft, was traded to Washington in December 2010 along with reliever Henry Rodriguez in exchange for Josh Willingham.
The 28-year-old Brown has spent most of his career in the minors. He hit .254 with 19 home runs, 56 RBIs and 12 stolen bases for Class AAA Syracuse last season.
Brown has played in 36 career major league games, hitting .175 with two home runs and five RBIs.
