Pacers Hope to Get Danny Granger Back on Friday
Published at(NEW YORK) — It appears that Indiana Pacers forward Danny Granger is finally set to make his season debut for the best team in Eastern Conference.
“I finally have news on Danny Granger,” Pacers head coach Frank Vogel said on Sunday, via Scott Agness of Pacers.com. “We’re going to target next Friday for a hopeful return to see how this week of practice goes.”
Granger has yet to play this season as he’s dealing with a calf issue. To make matters worse for Granger, he played in just five games last season dealing with an injury as well.
Even though they could certainly use an effective scorer like Granger, the Pacers haven’t had any trouble winning early on this season. The Pacers have jumped out to a 20-3 record this season, the best record in the NBA.
When healthy, Granger is capable of carrying the Pacers on offense despite the emergence of Paul George. For his career, Granger has averaged 18.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
