Pocatello Could Revise Utility Rates
Published at | Updated at(POCATELLO, ID) – The city of Pocatello could soon lower its utility rates. The city council could approve rate reductions for sanitation and water as early as Thursday. 6th District Judge Stephen Dunn recently ruled that the city was imposing an impermissible tax by using a “payment in lieu of tax” fee transfer program. Mayor Brian Blad says the city is revising its payment system to comply with the ruling. If approved, reduced rates could go into effect in time for the Dec. 19 billing cycle.
