Henderson/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — When Terrelle Pryor was named the starting quarterback for the Oakland Radiers’ Week 17 game against the Denver Broncos, his agent claimed that he was being set up to fail. Pryor has come out and refuted his agent’s claims.

“I apologize for the recent comments towards the Raiders organization,” Pryor said. “That’s not what I’m about. I’m thankful for this opportunity given to me by this organization and the phenomenal fans. I’m very excited to play with my teammates Sunday! We hope to make  you (fans) proud!”

Pryor started the team’s first nine games of the season, and was his first taste of expanded playing time since his rookie year in 2012.

He went 3-5 in games he started and finished, but his play was inconsistent at times, so the team turned to undrafted free agent Matt McGloin as the starting quarterback after Pryor suffered a sprained MCL in his right knee.

McGloin went 1-5, and with the team facing another losing season, Pryor’s agent claims that the team is starting his client just to see him fail.

In 10 games this season, Pryor has thrown five touchdowns to 11 interceptions, is completing 57.7% of his passes, and has 527 rushing yards.
