The Rangers took the current Seattle Seahawks quarterback from the Colorado Rockies for $12,000 and placed him on their restricted list.

Wilson was drafted in the fourth round by the Rockies in 2010 and hits .229 with five homeruns and 19 stolen bases for Colorado’s Class A affiliate in both 2010 and 2011.

After Wilson was drafted and signed by Seattle, he was required to give back most of the $200,000 signing bonus to the Rockies.

This is not the first time Texas has drafted athletes from other sports. In 1998, the Rangers selected running back Ricky Williams before he was drafted into the NFL and they’ve also drafted Riley Cooper and Jameis Winston in the past.
