If Balfour passes his physical he will receive $7 million each of the next two seasons and additional $1 million in deferred money, according to multiple reports.

The soon to be 36-year-old out of Australia pitched his last three seasons for Oakland. During that time, Balfour saved 64 games, 62 of those coming in the past two seasons when he became the Athletics’ full-time closer.

Balfour replaces Jim Johnson, who the Orioles traded to Oakland earlier in the month.

During his 10-season major league career, Balfour has a 28-17 record, 3.27 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, 72 saves and 514 strikeouts in 473 innings pitched.
