(EDMONTON, Alberta) — Blues winger Chris Stewart scored the hat trick as St. Louis (24-7-4; 52 pts) shut down the Edmonton Oilers (11-24-3; 25 pts) on Saturday night, 6-0.
Stewart’s first goal came at 11:57 into the first period with an assist from winger Jaden Schwartz, giving the Blues a 1-0 lead. St. Louis would increase their lead to 3-0 early in the third period on Stewart’s second goal. His third goal came at 7:27 into the final period on a power play, putting St. Louis up 5-0.
Besides scoring three goals, Stewart also recorded an assist when Brenden Morrow scored, 5:50 into the second period to give the Blues a 2-0 lead.
