Stranger Shoots Hunting Dog

(SPRINGFIELD, ID) – A Pocatello man is looking for someone who shot and killed his hunting dog on Sunday.  Chris Mickelsen was goose hunting with his golden labrador, Gunner, near Springfield. As the dog was retrieving a bird, a driver in a white Dodge flatbed pickup stopped on the road nearby, got out, and fatally shot the dog with a pistol. He then quickly sped off before Mickelsen could get his license plate number. Mickelsen says his dog was wearing an orange vest, and that he’s since heard of at least three other dogs being shot in the area recently. Bingham County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating.
