There’s No Place Like Home for the Big Night of the Year

Константин Чагин/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — Will you be celebrating on New Year’s Eve? About two-thirds of Americans plan on doing so, according to a survey by wine brand Barefoot Bubbly.
However, among that group of celebrants, 54 percent say that they’re going to party at home.
The reasons a majority of people want to stick close to home on New Year’s Eve seem to have do with previous experiences that didn’t live up to the hype.
In fact, 62 percent complained that all the hoopla about the occasion didn’t match their expectations, while 84 percent said they felt something called “celebration woes” when they went out.
On the other hand, more than seven in ten claimed their best New Year’s Eve was spent at home or at the home of a loved one.
As for champagne, 64 percent of celebrants plan to toast the New Year with champagne, the beverage most associated with New Year’s Eve.
