Victor Cruz’s Season is Over
Published at(EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.) — New York Giants receiver Victor Cruz underwent arthroscopic debridement on his left knee Thursday, ending the former Pro Bowler’s season.
Cruz also suffered a concussion during the Giants’ loss to Seattle last Sunday. Cruz was cleared of the concussion on Wednesday but the Giants officially ruled him out for the team’s game this Sunday against Detroit, and spokesman Pat Hanlon said Cruz will not play in the season finale versus Washington.
The 27-year-old Cruz signed a five-year, $43 million extension with New York during the offseason.
Cruz caught 73 passes for 998 yards and four touchdowns in 14 games this season.
Cruz finishes two yards shy of becoming the fourth Giants player ever to record three straight 1,000-yard receiving seasons.
