(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – An outspoken wildlife advocate from Idaho Falls will serve four years probation for poaching two elk. Marv Hoyt, the Idaho director of the Greater Yellowstone Coalition, will retire at the end of  the month. Hoyt recently admitted to shooting three elk on Nov. 2 in Caribou County, though he only had a tag to legally kill one. He was fined $2,100 and ordered to pay another $2,750 in restitution. Coalition  officials say they “deeply regret” the incident, noting that Hoyt is on  vacation and will no longer work with the group.
