The Wildcats tied the best start in program history by improving to 16-0, last done in the 1931-32 season.

UCLA (12-3) would not make it easy on their Pac-12 rivals, erasing a 13-point deficit in the second half and threatening to pull off the upset. The Bruins shot 41 percent in the second frame, and used a 15-1 run to take a 70-69 lead with 1:44 remaining, but couldn’t hold on for the win.

Instead, Nick Johnson answered with a jumper that put the Wildcats out in front for good. Johnson finished the contest with a game-high 22 points as three other Arizona players scored in double-figures. Meanwhile, Kyle Anderson had 16 points and 11 rebounds in the loss for UCLA and teammate Jordan Adams added a career best 11 boards to go along with 12 points.
