(12) Baylor Upset at Texas Tech

Mitchell Layton/Getty Images(LUBBOCK, Texas) -- The Red Raiders never trailed on their home court and were able to cruise a comfortable 82-72 win over No. 12 Baylor in Big 12 play on Wednesday night. It was the first conference win of the season for Texas Tech (9-8) and their first victory over a ranked opponent in 35 tries.

Baylor (13-3) fell to 1-2 in the Big 12 after threatening to make a comeback late in the second half. The Bears trailed by 21 at the half, thanks to an 11-0 Red Raiders run, but fought back to make it a 73-66 game with 2:19 to play. However, a three-point basket from Taurean Prince pushed the Texas Tech lead back into double figures where it would stay the rest of the way.

Five Red Raiders scored double-digit points, led by Jaye Crockett's 19, while the team shot over 57 percent from the floor and out-rebounded the Bears 35-19 in the win. Baylor was paced by 22 points from Kenny Cherry but the team did not make a field goal in the final 4:24 of the loss.
