Cincinnati (20-2, 9-0 American Athletic Conference) is now 9-0 in conference play for the first time since the 1999-2000 season.

Louisville (17-4, 6-2 AAC) trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half, but the Cardinals fought back and Russ Smith’s 3-pointer with 5:03 left in the game gave Louisville the lead. But Louisville couldn’t hang on because Kilpatrick went a perfect 6 for 6 from the line from that point on to close out the game.

Montrezl Harrell had 18 points and six rebounds in the loss.

Justin Jackson, who was questionable before the game with an ankle injury, added 11 points, nine rebounds and two blocks for the Bearcats, which will try to keep their perfect AAC record intact Sunday when they host South Florida.
