(17) Ohio State Drops Fourth Straight Game

The Buckeyes, ranked 17th in the country, lost their fourth straight game on Monday night in a 68-62 loss at unranked Nebraska. Ironically, the Cornhuskers where the last team Ohio State beat, winning by 31 points on Jan. 4 in Columbus.

Nebraska (9-8, 1-5 Big Ten) jumped out to an early 14-point lead in the first half and held a 34-25 advantage at the break. Ohio State (15-4, 2-4) started to mount a rally in the second half and took a 46-45 lead with under six minutes to go in regulation. The Huskers took back the lead for good when Deverell Biggs stole the ball from Aaron Craft and made a layup for the go-ahead score.

The Buckeyes continued to fight back but were never able to fully complete the effort. Nebraska went on a 16-5 run late in the half and hit 13 of 16 free throws down the stretch to hold off Ohio State. Terran Petteway scored seven points in the final 2:22 to help the Huskers snap a five-game losing skid of their own. Both Petteway and Shavon Shields led all scorers with 18 points each in the win.

Craft finished the day with 12 points and seven rebounds but committed four costly turnovers and now has 19 in the current losing streak. The skid is the longest for Ohio State since the 2007-08 season.
